När jag först läste om att man valt GPL istället för ex LGPL blev jag lite fundersam, för så som jag förstått det har GPL en "smittsam" egenskap som LGPL inte har: "The main difference between the GPL and the LGPL is that the latter can be linked to (in the case of a library, 'used by') a non-(L)GPLed program, which may be free software or proprietary software" (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_General_Public_License" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesser_General_Public_License</a>). Men om man studerar Suns FAQ som Du länkar till så ser man ju att Sun har adresserat problemet m h a ett licens-tillägg kallat "Classpath exception" (<a href="http://www.sun.com/software/opensource/java/faq.jsp#g5" rel="nofollow">http://www.sun.com/software/opensource/java/faq.jsp#g5</a>) så att "smittsamheten" undviks.
